First night in her own room

We have been blessed with a very good sleeper, Ellie has been sleeping through the night since 6 weeks or so. She has been sleeping in a bassinet next to our bed. She is 10 weeks now, so I decided to put her to bed in her crib last night. We had not put her in her crib yet because its upstairs and our room is downstairs. So we have kept her in our room so long more for our sakes then hers..... We must of checked on her 10 times, we even took video & pictures with night vision. She went to be at 9:00
And sleep clear till 7:00 am

Nothing beats her morning stretches and smiles!!

Ellie, you did great in your own room.
I think your mom & dad missed you much more then you missed them!
Please stop growing sooo fast!!!

I bet my Grandmas can sew better then yours.....

So I was just thinking today about all the talented people in my life that made some dang cute stuff for Ellie, and I thought I should share. I am sure there are things that I left out, so sorry if I forgot something as I was taking pictures today.

These cute zebra blanket & burp clothes and the wippey case were made by Kelli, Glow & Em. They are so cute and I get compliments all the time. And the little booties (that I realize now are hard to see) were made by Missy. Girls lets really do that sewing day like we have talked about, so I can learn your skillz.

My mom is so creative and anything she makes always turns out so cute. She has made soooo much stuff, that I know I am forgetting some. Up top we have a cute hooded towel she made and a fraction of the many many burp clothes she made. I go through them like crazy so Im glad I have a lot.

This is a an adorable set of cloth letters that my Mom made- each on is its individual quilt block, with matching fabric to the picture and everything- one of my favorite things my mom made for Ellie.

These are some blankets my mom made, my favorite is the one on top. She is a great quilter!! Thanks again Mom I really love it.

Ok, check out these cutest clothes you have ever seen. Who made them.... you guessed it my mom!! Following are a few pictures of Ellie modeling her Grandmas creations.

** Notice the cute little shoes that match. I love this outfit!

Up next we have some cute, soft and cuddley items made by Toms mom (AKA Grandma Proctor). The cute brown and pink receiving blanket will always remind me of the hospital when Ellie was born- it was one of the first ones she was wrapped in. Also the blue thing is a carseat blanket that lets you wrap them up while they are buckled in.

Grandma Proctor also made Ellie this cute night light, it sits on her dresser and looks so cute.

Last but certainly not least is the creations of my very talented sister Nicki
(and her helper Megan, my niece). She made all of Ellies Bedding (quilt and bumpers), the cute tree wall hanging, some sweet little shoes with her initial on them, the little taggie blanket and a hand stiched picture with her name and birthday. Nickles you are so creative- you made her nursury so so cute, thanks for all the time you put in. I especially love the quilt- love the fabric w/ all those bright colors!

Tell me that is not the cutest baby quilt you have ever seen, Im just sayin.... (I think I have used the word cute a record amount of times in this post, but how could I not)
This wall hanging that Nicki just made up hangs over Ellies changing table- love it!

Its already been 2 months!!!

Ellie is 2 months old today!! In some ways it has flown by, but in other ways it seems like she has been with us much longer. She is just so much fun, especially as she is getting bigger and more aware of us. For the past several weeks I have been doing everything and anything to try to get this girl to smile. (Seriously if anyone else saw me I would be embarrassed!) Well today she kept having the look like she was going to smile, and even she would get half a smile, but when Tom got home from work tonight she let them fly. It was sooooo cute!! She was just grinning away. Of course my camera was no where to be found so here is the best I could get on demand.

We were so excited, It seriously is the highlight of my whole week . We just love Ellie so much, and we can no longer imagine life without her. She has already changed so much in two months-
I keep telling her to stay small for a while because I am having so much fun being her mommy.
Happy 2 months Ellie!!

I'm new at this......

I have been meaning to start a blog for a while, and with the recent arrival of our little girl I figured what better time! You should know in advance that I am no English major, so expect: bad spelling, bad grammar, run on sentences, etc. Tom and I are living in Cedar Hills. We just had our first baby, Ellie! She is 6 1/2 weeks, and already we can't imagine our lives without her sweet face.
We are learning as we go, but we think we struck gold- she is such a good baby. We don't have anything to compare her to, but I say "ignorance is bliss"!

Duty calls, more to come.......
